This month I have not only moved to another country alone but also moved out of my family home at the same time. And these are my honest opinions of life alone for the first time.
The reception began with a moment of remembrance for the late Dolores O’Riordan, with musicians David Idioh and Brian Finn playing the instrumental version of ‘Zombie’ by the Cranberries. Following this Mayor Seán Lynch began to describe all the work the couple have done in Limerick to support local music and arts groups.
Crowds turned out for the CJ Stander St Munchins community centre fundraiser launch after the centre had a devastating fire which destroyed their hairdressing facilities due to a technical fault. They need to raise €9,000 to rebuild the facilities to a good standard and hopefully from the turnout of the launch, that will be no problem. Along with appearing for photographs and signing autographs for all who attended, CJ also donated a prize for the fundraising raffle taking place on March 16th.
Pancake Tuesday took place on 13th February this year and to celebrate it Limerick Mental Health Association hosted the Smiley Pancake campaign. This year the Limerick Mental Health Association Smiley Pancake campaign was hosted by three of the best hotels in the city, the Savoy Hotel, the George Hotel and the Strand Hotel.
